Privacy, by keeping things local.

This policy describes the current NoBadge preview and this website. NoBadge is made by Hwechul Cho.

What the app processes

NoBadge reads your macOS Focus configuration and notification settings on your Mac. It uses installed app names and icons to let you choose exceptions. It changes supported badge preferences and keeps a local recovery journal so it can restore the values it changed. It does not read message contents, documents, or browsing history.

Permissions

Full Disk Access allows broad file access. NoBadge uses this permission for Focus and notification settings. You can revoke it in System Settings. Restore your previous badge settings from NoBadge before revoking access or removing the app.

No app account or analytics

The current preview has no account, advertising, analytics, tracking SDK, or app backend. Focus names, your app list, and badge preferences are not sent to us.

Local files and diagnostics

Settings, the recovery journal, and bounded diagnostic state logs are stored in your local Application Support folder. Diagnostic exports happen only when you choose to save them. The app shows the exact diagnostic text first. If you email support, your email provider processes that message and we receive the information you choose to include.

Updates and ratings

The current direct-download preview has no configured update feed and does not make automatic update checks. After sustained successful use, NoBadge may show a small rating/review invitation in Settings. It stores only a first-use date, up to three qualifying day identifiers, and the date and version of the last invitation locally. The invitation opens this website only when you click it. The feedback page keeps your optional rating and comments in the current browser page and opens an email draft only when you choose. It does not submit or publish them automatically, and does not save them in browser storage. If you send that draft, we receive your email and its contents.

Purchases through Lemon Squeezy

Paid distribution is being prepared with Lemon Squeezy as merchant of record. When sales open, Lemon Squeezy will handle checkout, payment, tax, receipts and file delivery. It may share customer name, email address and order information with us for fulfillment and support. We do not receive your full payment card details. See Lemon Squeezy’s privacy policy. Purchases are not open yet.

This website

This site is hosted by GitHub Pages. We do not add analytics, advertising, tracking cookies, external fonts, or remote scripts. GitHub may process technical request data to operate the hosting service; see GitHub’s privacy statement. Videos and images are hosted with the site. Optional newsletter links open Substack, which has its own privacy policy.

Your choices

Use Restore & Quit before removing NoBadge. After restoration, removing the app and its local Application Support/NoBadge folder removes its saved preferences and logs. Do not delete an active recovery journal before restoration finishes.
